Setting up a Full Spectrum Laser Hobby 40W MLE-40 with linuxCNC 2.6 on top of Ubuntu 12.04 Percise Pangolin
Installed YUMI on a 30GB flash drive.
Using YUMI installed ubuntu12.04 for x86 ( apparently AMD64 doesn’t play well with linuxCNC)
Followed the Fresh install on Ubuntu 12.04 (precise) instructions.
Rebooted. Selected Older Kernals in GRUB, and selected the rtai kernal.
Launched linuxCNC Stepconf
Here’s the PinOut diagram for the MLE-40′s parrallel port.
Using KARILOUMA’s EMC configuration files for FSE Laser 40W
Problem: Files are from 2011, my software build is 2014.
OK, lets run Stepconfig and try and build a 2014 configuration and… smack into linuxCNC Bug 380 which was opened a week ago.
The activity on the project looks pretty good, I’ll give it a while and see if it gets fixed.
As you can note by the leaves in the photo, flying in high wind is not recommended. Time for repairs.
